Hi party people, it’s really been too long.
To no one’s surprise I’ve adopted a new hobby, I’m now a needlepointer! Move over sourdough, stitching is in. And I really love it. I’ve found a lot of excitement in a new creative outlet, plus a great excuse to keep up with Nana and her quilting.
Speaking of Nanas…the whole granny hobby thing is gaining a lot of traction it seems? My friends at my LNS (Local Needlepoint Store) have been telling me there’s a growing audience for girls my age seeking out this craft. This is happening on TikTok too, with WIP Wednesdays / Stitch Mail Mondays where people share their current projects, usually all done simultaneously.
Generally I’m excited about a shift towards non-screen hobbies. Plus it’s a great new shopping avenue. Right now my favorite shops are Lycette, KC Needlepoint, and Third Coast Stitches for online, but of course Aristeia Needlepoint in Santa Monica for in person!
Lycette has a fun substack presence with moody stitching playlists too.
Here’s some canvases I have my eye on for a future project…

Seems as though this craft lies mostly in the South / East Coast…….CA needlepointer girls wya?!
